How's it been?

It’s been pretty sweet. The steering is magnificent and it corners very nice and flat on the street. I do at times still wonder if I should’ve gotten an s2000 or an STi instead though although that probably would’ve been the case regardless of which one I ended up with haha.

I constantly find myself wishing I had an S2000. The BRZ is a great car, I really want to spend more time behind the wheel of one. Any planned mods or anything?

Yeah, they’re so attractive I can’t help but want one. Probably not since I’m pretty content with it. Probably wheels and suspension at most for me. How’s your e92 doing?

It’s been great, almost at 75k now. I’m having a little trouble with the harness for my right rear tail light. I keep getting a bulb out error even though all lights are functional. There was a service bulletin so I’m hoping that if I take it to the dealer it’ll be an easy fix. I stupidly dropped it off at a shop 2 days ago expecting them to fix it quickly and they ended up just messing up some interior trim on the car :(

Been an awesome car so far and honestly I’ve been enjoying it completely stock. Have a set of wheels for it, maybe throw on an exhaust, then I'm all done.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing that post. For some reason I thought it was E90M3 who posted it. That sucks though, man. We’re you able to get them to pay for the trim?

Yeah, sometimes stock is pretty good and mods just make it worse unless you pay a boatload of money. Even then I’m not sure I’d be able to tell the difference. Sometimes people ask why I’d want to mod the BRZ’s suspension and I just tell them, “I just want to lower the car for looks” since let’s be honest I probably wouldn’t be a good enough driver to tell the difference.

Yeah they went and bought new trim from BMW and are installing it today. Then I’m gonna take my car to the dealer and have them just fix the tail light issue since I think it’ll be free because it’s a service bulletin.

That’s exactly it. Since I don't track my car, some mods are only so worthwhile. For $300 I can put M3 front control arms in, and that makes the steering feel a little heavier and more enjoyable. For $600 I can pick up a nice used exhaust, and then get a spring/shock combo that'll lower the car to sit nicely on the wheels I picked up and I'm all done. Maybe I'll get a new shift knob lol.

Lol precisely my thought process. I mean I’ll try to track the car but realistically 99% of the time it’ll be a daily. So at most suspension, wheels and tires. Other than that I’ve got tint on it and that’s it. Even then, some people aren’t a fan of how hard it is to get into the car already and I’m not sure they’d be a fan if I lowered it even more lol.

I find it funny when people have trouble getting in/out of my stock height miata and complain how low the car is. I then wonder what they would think of cars that have actually been lowered or even slammed. Or really deep bucket seats. I think non-car people get way too used to giant cars/trucks.

After driving an FRS for a weekend, I definitely want one. It was so Miata that it was excellent. The one I drove was black on black so it was always hot as hell in the car (AC worked real well though). I imagine that problem goes away with a white one? I definitely want to buy one once I move out to California. Would make a perfect companion to my Miata, the most impractical fleet lol.

It’s definitely a solid car. The feedback and visceral experience is awesome. The white exterior definitely helps but I have found that the car lets in warm air from the engine very freely so it doesn’t help too much. I usually keep the windows down when I’m solo but my GF doesn’t enjoy that too much so I have to use the AC.

Yeah. I have a buddy who is always surprised by how low the BRZ is in stock form. He usually falls into the passenger seat when he gets in. He used to be all for lowering every car until he had to climb into my BRZ. He now takes a more conservative approach to lowering lol.

At least it seems like the AC doesnt affect acceleration much in the Toyobaru. It is definitely like an anti-turbo on my Miata when I do actually use AC. I think I am just so used to the whole top down thing that it was weird to be stuck with windows down as my only option other than AC. I was just really surprised how similar the steering and clutch and shifter felt to my car. It really is like a hard top Miata with a back seat storage compartment.
